SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
CD95, also known as Fas is a transmembrane glycoprotein, a member of nerve growth factor / tumor necrosis factor superfamily receptors. This surface molecule mediates the apoptotic process triggered by receptors. Fas antigen is expressed on the surface of several cell types including T and B lymphocytes and activated lymphoblastoid T cell lines.
