Description

SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
The enolases are homo- or heterodimers of three subunits: alpha (46 kDa), beta (44 kDa) and gamma (46 kDa). This antibody recognizes a protein of 46 kDa molecular weight corresponding to the neuron-specific enolase.

Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide derived from C-terminal of human NSE.
Staining pattern: Cytoplasmic.
Positive control: Tissue sample from pancreas.

APPLICATIONS:
This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human NSE using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
This antibody recognizes the alpha or beta subunit of neuronal-specific enolase. The alpha subunit is expressed in most tissues while the beta subunit only in muscle. The gamma subunit is expressed primarily in neurons and neuroendocrine cells in normal and neoplastic. In neuroendocrine tumors often co-expression of neuron-specific enolase and chromogranin A.
