SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
This antibody recognizes human p80 protein of 80 kDa, identified as a hybrid gene Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and nucleophosmin gene (NPM), as a result of translocation t (2;5)(p23;q35) detected in one third of large cell lymphomas.
Immunogen: Recombinant protein corresponding to a region covering the catalytic domain of tyrosine kinase and a part of the C-terminal NPM-ALK transcript.
Staining pattern: Cytoplasmic and nuclear.
Positive control: Tissue sample from anaplastic lymphoma.
This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human ALK using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
This monoclonal antibody obtained in rabbit can be used to detect p80 in large cell lymphomas and it can in turn be used to detect a subtype of large B-cell lymphoma recently described for its expression of complete protein ALK.
