SUMMARY, EXPLANATION AND LIMITATIONS:
This antibody recognizes synaptophysin, a 38kDa protein.
Immunogen: A synthetic peptide of human synaptophysin.
Staining pattern: Cytoplasmic.
Positive control: Tissue sample from pancreas or pheochromocytoma.
This antibody is designed for the specific localization of human synaptophysin using IHC techniques in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
This antibody identifies adrenal medulla neuroendocrine cells, carotid body, pituitary gland, triode, lung, pancreas, mucosa, Paneth cells in gastrointestinal tract and gastric parietal cell are stained. Brain neurons, spinal cord and retina are also stained. Immunostain with this antibody together with chromogranin A and specific neuronal enolase allows to identify normal and neoplastic neuroendocrine cells.
